Getting ready for the tour

We're back from Carson City...safe and sound and in one piece. Alyssa had a great time and I was quickly known as the "cool mom". We left early Wednesday morning and got into Carson City at about 4:30pm. (Yes, that is a loooong bus ride...and yes, it was loud) We wasted no time....we checked into the hotel and set off to explore the city. The first night we walked the Kit Carson Trail and attempted to locate a Starbucks (no such luck!) The girls went caroling to the boys rooms singing Hannah Montana songs...than we were lucky enough to watch Hannah Montana until midnight!
The next morning we reported to breakfast at a brisk 6am! We went to Virginia City and toured some of the old buildings from back in the 1800's and even got to tour an old mine. We had train and trolley tours of the city too. Afterwards we went to UNR where the kids got to do a hands on activity led my the geology department where they got to identify different rocks and minerals based on what they had studied. We ended that day with a fun game on the lawn of the Supreme Court.
Friday we toured the governors mansion, the capitol building and the legislative building. it was really interesting. We got back into Vegas at about midnight.
Hope you like some of these pictures...I took about a gazillion!
