What can you say....

I love my silly husband. What more can I say....

Memorial Day....

We celebrated the day with a BBQ and swimming at our friends house. As usual the kids had a blast swimming. The food was great and we had no shortage of laughs.

Alyssa's new look....

I have begged and pleaded with Alyssa to remain a little girl, however, despite my best efforts, she continues to grow up.
With growing up comes change....
In March, we ditched the glasses and got contacts. What a difference that made.
Today, I took her for a hair cut and highlights. WOW, what a difference that made.
Yes, she's still young, but I can see her spreading her wings more and more each day. She turning into such a beautiful lady both inside and out. What a blessing she is.
Before (with her school award for all A's all year!)

Speechless...

Closing in...

on the last day of 6th grade! Sheesh...I was beginning to wonder if the year would ever end!
Seriously, Alyssa had a rockin' year. (did I use that term correctly?) She sailed through the year with all A's, became a member of student council, SAVE (Students against violence everywhere), National Junior Honor Society. She entered her first year of Confirmation classes at church, which she LOVES, pulled 6 dance classes a week and sometimes more and landed the roll of Fritz in the 2009 Nutcracker. Really?!
I'm so proud of you little lady!

Random update...

Ok, my blog has been neglected lately. It's the same story...we've been busy..blah, blah, blah!

*A few weeks ago our guinea pig, Bean, died. It was a sad event. He had been with us for 5 years and he lived a good life.

*I'm going to be an Auntie again in the fall (times TWO) My sister, Jill, is having her 3rd baby in October and my BESTEST friend in the world is having her 2nd miracle around Thanksgiving. The timing seems perfect for that delivery, what a blessing!
Of course I am thrilled...I love babies and I love these mama's too!

* Alyssa is wrapping up the 6th grade! I am super excited for that...her, not so much.

* hmmmm.....besides Brandon still wrestling and doing TapOut, Alyssa is still dancing and Jeff is working a TON of overtime, Gabriella is growing before my eyes at a rate that makes me just want to cry. Other than that, that's about all.

So, there you have it, my lame update. :)

I'd make millions...

I have decided I am going to open a restaurant that caters to families and on the menu I will offer a variety of crazy pills...offered to tired and frazzled parents when their kids are like this...

Mothers Day...

I think Mothers Day should be everyday...
This year for Mothers Day, Jeff and the kids took me to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. This has long been our tradition. In fact, we have gone every Mothers Day since Alyssa was just 3 weeks old. The food is always so yummy!
Afterwards, we spent the day at our friends house. The kids swam and all of us mommy's just relaxed. We always have a great time when we are together and I am so thankful to have their friendship!

This is our fabulous babysitter, Nikki. We LOVE her...
she is so good with the kids and I trust her. If you know me...then you know I am not the trusting type when it comes to my kids and babysitters. Unfortunately, she is moving back to Illinois after she graduates next month. She promises she will be back to visit...but most importantly, to babysit!

What's new...

Well, not a whole heck of a lot!

Brandon received an award this morning at school for always having a positive attitude. I'm so proud of him. I feel so blessed that he has the teacher that he does. I say this every year, about both him and Alyssa. We have just been fortunate to always have great teachers. BUT, I really do LOVE his teacher, she's amazing...we'll miss her when we have to move on.

Alyssa is almost done with the 6th grade. I think she has 17 days of school left (but who's counting?!) The year has just flown by. I dreaded Jr. High, but I have to say, this has been the most fun I've had with Alyssa. We have grown so close and developed a bond that brings me indescribable joy!
Oh, and just so I never forget. Last Sunday I took her to the movies. You're thinking, whats so great about that? Well, it was her first movie with a BOY! They saw The Last Song...and I sat RIGHT behind them. :)

Gabriella. What can I say. We're still trying to get her use to the potty. It's been tough this time around. Being consistent and staying consistent is so hard to do with our schedule. I hope she catches on soon...

Thanks about all.

Pointe....

Alyssa started pointe class a few weeks ago. She has actually only had two classes, but, just like all her other dances, she has been practicing a lot at home.
I love seeing her up on her toes.

Too cute...

Team GV picnic

Today was the annual Team GV awards picnic. Thankfully all the windy and cold weather we have been having this past week is over and we had a beautiful day.
This year, Brandon was awarded the most outstanding wrestler award for the bantam boys. Way to go, Mambo!
