Nutrcacker

This past weekend Alyssa danced in the Nutcracker. She danced the roll of Fritz, if you have ever seen the show, Fritz is the mischievous brother of Clara. She did a fantastic job! She had a dance solo as well as a duet with Clara. We are very proud of her for not only dancing so well but just for the fact that she was chosen to dance this roll. It sure makes all the driving, waiting and dance tuition payments seem worth it!
Bravo, Alyssa! You were great!

Once upon a time...long, long ago a sweet princess named Gabriella happily sat contently in her stroller during the long days we like to call wrestling tournaments.
Sadly, the princess soon realized that sitting still and playing with a book while happily strapped in one place was horribly over rated and protested her imprisonment.
This made the queen (me, in this instance) terribly stressed and somewhat cranky as she chased the princess off the mats and attempted to corral her in the bleachers.
In the end, the sweet princess was happy with a Snickers bar and the queen was happy to finally sit down.

These three guys are the tough "little" guys on the team. I asked them to smile but was reminded that "wrestlers do not smile"....DUH, I knew that. :)

This is the group of boys who went to the Salt Lake Slam last weekend. I love that they decked out the RV with Team GV....

Wrestling...

So, the guys did have a great wrestling weekend.
On Saturday we held our own at the Salt Lake Slam. Brandon had some tough matches and wrestled his best. He placed 2nd. I wish I had a way to upload the videos to this blog. He's had some great matches and some pretty sweet slams. :)
On Sunday he wrestled in the GV Duels. Our team placed 2nd. We saw some awesome wrestling! I tell ya, I live for this stuff! :) We swept through one of our hater teams so of course that's always a sweet victory.
Way to go guys...I loved all 8 hours of it!

Salt Lake Slam

The boys headed out today for Salt Lake City for the Salt Lake Slam wrestling tournament.
Brandon is up against some tough competition, just thinking about it leaves butterflies in my stomach.
I have a feeling tomorrow will be a long day as I wait for updates from Jeff.
I'm excited for the group of boys that are going, I know they will all do great!
After the tournament they will make the long drive home, get in I'm sure well after midnight, sleep in the RV and be back up at 6am for weigh ins for the GV Duels. Brandon is filling the 40 pound slot. I'm really excited for this. It will be the first time all season I get to watch him wrestle besides from videos.

Choir

Last night was Alyssa's holiday choir concert. The kids all looked great and sounded good.
We're already looking forward to the spring festival. :)

On another side note. Not that anyone really cares. Well, besides maybe Jeff and I. Last night was also the first time that I left Gabriella in the care of someone besides my mom or sister. I braced for the worse and was sure she would freak out. Instead, it was me who was choked up and Gabriella who seemed to not really care.
Go figure...
